FBI: Cool People.

Did you guys know that you can go to your local field office with emails, chats, websites; etc? Why? To have them tracked to the source. Maybe you’ve been getting threatening, bullying or disrespectful emails. This is a CRIME now. Ever since that little girl in Saint Louis killed herself over MySpace, it is now a FELONY to do this! This is not a matter to be taking lightly. Bullying can lead to depression, suicide, altered behavior, paranoia, poor grades and can ruin families/friends lives!

If you have ANY emails, chats or IM’s like this I urge you to report it to your local field office or county office. Portraying to be someone else to bully is not only a felony for cyber bullying, it’s also a felony for cyber terrorism, wire fraud and identity theft.

Great, let’s encourage everyone to turn each other in for every imagined slight … that’s really going to help protect our freedoms.

How about encouraging personal responsibility instead? What were the parents of the girl (and the bullies!) doing while their kids were spending hours alone on their computers, clearly unsupervised?

“I’m gonna tell!” – still the best defense from childhood?

Some children have no responsible parents and their only ‘out’ is to play on the computer. Some kids are to shy or just not the type that can easily make friends, so they resort to the computer. These kids have very low self esteem. So yes, “I’m gonna tel!” [is] the best defense from childhood. This post goes hand-in-hand with adults as well. If an ex would email you telling you that he or she is going to kidnap your daughter/son, then reporting it would be very wise. As this is the reason I wrote the post.

I’m pretty sure the law isn’t intended for “every imagined slight …” Are you a bully yourself? I normally wouldn’t even reply to something like this but, OMG!! You must not have a teenager. They are easily devastated and if someone was repeatedly harassing my daughter I would want a way to put a stop to it.. I’m sure that if you were to go to the FBI with “every imagined slight …” or just looking for a boyfriend they’d turn you down. Just please don’t knock a system created to protect us or our children from harassment!!! I find this as childish and stooping pretty low!!!
